The prototyping process had a couple of bumps in it for our group. The HMW statement we started with did not encompass all that we wanted it to, so we took our other two statements and combined them into one: “HMW make customers more invested in Southwest’s sustainability initiative?”
Our prototype was originally going to be a reusable meal kit to help reduce plastic waste meals create on flights, and we combined that with our second idea which was some sort of sustainability rewards program.
The process of prototyping itself was smooth. We didn’t want to make something that was tangible, but we also wanted part of it to be a realistic scenario. We decided to make a rough prototype of something a customer would get sustainability points for (in this case, a reusable cup that holds both hot and cold beverages), as well as a website/app to simulate the rewards process.
I am excited to implement the feedback we get, and excited to see what the final product will be!
